The Sahara Portal is an online platform established by the Government of India to facilitate the refund process for depositors who invested in various cooperative societies under the Sahara Group. Launched on July 18, 2023, by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, this portal was created in response to a Supreme Court order aimed at protecting the invested money and and interests of depositors and ensuring they can reclaim their funds efficiently.
Who can apply for refund?
Sahara Refund Portal recently allowing resubmit application for those investors there money has been invested (stucked) in following four cooperative societies:
- Humara India Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Kolkata.
- Sahara Credit Cooperative Society Limited, Lucknow.
- Saharayan Universal Multipurpose Society Limited, Bhopal.
- Stars Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited,
Hyderabad.
Cooperative society’s name can be found on Sahara Deposit receipt.
The claimed amount is up to ₹5,00,000 (Five Lakh). If amount is more than Five Lakhs, they have to wait till, any announcement (notification) published on Sahara Refund official Portal.
The Supreme Court ordered the transfer of ₹5,000 crores from the ‘Sahara SEBI Refund Account’ to the Central Registrar of Cooperative Societies (CRCS) to support the refund process for depositors.

Required Documents
All the Sahara investors who wants to apply for a refund through Sahara Refund portal these documents will be required:
- Aadhar Card
- Aadhar Linked Mobile Number
- NPCI Mapped Bank Account Number
- Sahara Deposit Receipt/Passbook/Bond etc.
Note:-Before applying for Sahara Refund, Investor’s Mobile Number should linked with Aadhar Card and there Bank Account should mapped with NPCI. Because the released money will be credited through DBT to Investor’s Bank account.
How To Apply for Sahara Refund?
Applying for Sahara Refund online is very easy. Following below our guideline you can easy apply for your refund:
Complete the Registration process first
- Firstly go to Sahara refund official website which is ” mocrefund.crcs.gov.in “
- Click on Depositor Registration on home page (You can find it left side of the menu bar on home page)
- Now a new page will open, fill you last four digit of your Aadhar number and Aadhar linked mobile number in designated box
- Fill the security captcha and click on get OTP button. OTP will be send on your registered number.
- Now you will get an option to verify OTP on same page below. Verify OTP.
- Now Your Registration process has been completed.

- Back to home page an Click Depositor Login
- Now You will get the same Last four digit of your Aadhar and mobile number option.
- Do the same and verify OTP, now you will be Logged in the portal proceed for next step.

- On next page you will find UIDAI declaration, just click on next below

- Now in this page you can verify your details and click on next

- Now this is your claim detail page
- You have to fill here all the required information like, your deposited society name, membership number, account opening date, deposit amount, just as written in your Sahara documents
- Than you have to upload your Sahara documents in given format.
- You will find a add claim button below, click on it
- You can add one by one all of your account and deposits here.

- Now You can see all the details will be added in the claim page below
- Every claim will be showed here

- Now next page will be your Mandate form page
- Generate and download your Mandate form here
- All of your deposit details will be already added in mandate from
- you have to do just stick a passport size pic in mandate form and sign it in given column
- when you will download your mandate from next button will show there
- Click on it, on next page you have to upload this mandate form in Sahara Refund portal
- When you upload your mandate form and will click on next button your receipt will be generated.

Investors who applied for the Sahara Refund can check their refund status online by following these steps:
- Visit the official Sahara Refund Portal website at https://mocresubmit.crcs.gov.in/
- Click on the ” Depositor Login ” button located on the homepage menu.
- Enter the last four digit of your Aadhar number
- and mobile number in designated box.
- Fill the captcha security code
- Click on Get ” OTP ” button
- You will receive a OTP on your registered mobile number
- On next page validate the OTP
- Now your Sahara Refund Status will shown on your screen.
- Status may include Claim settled or deficiency communicated
Understanding the Sahara Refund Status
When you will check your Sahara Refund Status, your status could falls in two main category:
- Your claim has been settled
- Deficiency Communicated
Claim Settled
It means your sahara refund application has been approved and your claim amount had been deposited to you Aadhar Linked bank account through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer)
Deficiency Communicated
Deficiency communicated means your refund application has been rejected by the authority, reasons may included:
- Membership Form Not Uploaded by the Society
- Account Opening Form Not Uploaded by the Society
- Depositor have two membership in same cooperative society.
- The details provided by the depositor has
not matched with the society database/
records provided by the Society (Name/
Membership/ Account No. etc.) and more.
Your resolution depends upon the “deficiency Types” either you have to resubmit application or may need to contact relative societies to resolve these reasons which is given below.
